Today was again part of our Host Family City programme.  In the morning we went to the Shanghai Museum. Here we saw the pottery gallery with many beautiful examples of Chinese pottery. We also went to see the section on Chinese currency.  It was extraordinary to see that China had currency of real quality long before anything in Europe. Finally, we went to see some examples of Chinese ancient costume. In spite of what was anticipated everyone found the visit extremely interesting. In the afternoon we went to a local school where the athletes participated in some games with the local Chinese athletes. Katie and Francis were both succesful and won the first prizes of the Games for the team. |
