 Today we had another  Opening Ceremony here at the Watersports Centre. This time all of the performers were from local groups and children from local schools featured a lot. There are some photos but these can only show a small part of the whole programme. The actual opening had the release of hundreds of pigeons and balloons and fireworks.  We then saw the first of the dragon boat races. The best part of this opening was that we had seats that were close enough to see all the action very clearly. In the afternoon we had the second practice day. The paddlers are now happy with their boats and perfomed well in practice. The extra news we had last night was that Typhoon Rosa was on its way and this would mean having to re-arrange the programme. So tomorrow we will have divisioning for the 200 and the 500 races. Then we have two days off whilst the ty phoon passes over and we revert to the origional finals. |
